Xiaomi is hosting an event in China today, and it is widely expected to launch the Redmi Note 4 smartphone, but it sale on Xiaomi retailer's website now.

Specs on offer include a MediaTek Helio X20 SoC with ten CPU cores (two Cortex A72 at 2.1GHz, four Cortex A53 at 1.8GHz, and four Cortex A53 at 1.4GHz), dual SIM slots with a hybrid microSD slot, 13MP f/2.0 camera with PDAF, storage configurations of 16GB and 64GB, and a massive 4100mAh battery. Like the Redmi Note 3, the Redmi Note 4 offers a fingerprint sensor at the back.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Pro include a 13-megapixel rear camera, and a 5-megapixel front camera. It is expected to run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow-based MIUI 8 out-of-the-box, and sport a 4100mAh battery. The dimensions of 151.3x76x8.9mm, a 175-gram weight, and Gold and Silver colour variants. Connectivity options tipped include 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11ac (2.4 and 5GHz), Bluetooth 4.2, and GPS.

The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 was rumored for September 5, but the launch may have been pulled up. If that's the case, expect a Samsung-made AMOLED screen, Snapdragon 821 with 6GB of RAM, up to 128GB of storage and a fingerprint reader on the front of the metal body. The price should be around $375, $420 if you want the top storage version.
