Smartphones are the devices we use to communicate with the rest of the world on a daily basis. Some people prefer to upgrade once the new model is out while some might prefer to use it until the smartphones stop working completely. It's always excited to receive our newly purchased smartphone isn't it? However, it feels weird after we boot up the phone and all our commonly used settings, themes, photos with friends and family, messages are not there. What if we can transfer our data from old phone to new phone? Yes,with MIUI you can do it !

Mi Cloud
Mi Cloud lets you access your photos, contacts, messages, call logs and more from anywhere. With distributed data storage mechanisms on Mi Cloud, all data received are encrypted from transmission to storage. Your Mi account also requires two-step sign in authentication, so that only you can access your information. The privacy and security of your content is of utmost importance to us.

Use your Mi Cloud account to transfer your contacts, texts, settings, photos, WiFi settings, and more content from your previous Android devices to your new device.

Login your Mi Account ID in your new smartphone and choose the following options. Your familiar settings and data from your previous phone is now back to your phone !

Local Backup
Another way to backup your data is by local backup. You can choose to backup settings and apps with this feature.

Once the backup is done, copy the backup folder to your new phone by following this path MIUI/Backup/Allbackup. This method can be used to make a backup before flashing too.
