Thas been over a year since Xiaomi talked tablets, since the launch its Mi Pad 2. The company, one would think, got busy making Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air and all-screen concept Xiaomi Mi MIX smartphones. But new leaks have brought back life to its Mi Pad 3 rumours, hinting that the company may still be betting on the not-so-hot-selling tablet space. It has only resorted to making the Mi Pad very much like the Apple iPad (Air?). Xiaomi doesn't care anyways, that's what it does and maybe that is what gets it going.
According to the reports surfaced online, the Mi Pad 3 will feature a 9.7-in high-resolution retina display with a resolution of 2048 x 1536. The device is expected to be all-metal with 6.08mm thickness and a weight of 380g and has a fingerprint scanner. The device will have a huge battery of 8290mAh. The tablet is expected to have a USB Type-C port and will support quick charge 3.0. The USB port will be flanked by speakers on each side. When it comes to the processor it is still reportedly working with Intel and has a 7th Gen Core M processor (m3-7Y30) and an integrated Intel HD Graphics 615 GPU. There are two variants of the devices based on storage – 128 GB and 256 GB. The device has a 16MP rear camera with dual-tone flash and an 8MP selfie camera.
The rumoured Xiaomi Mi Pad 3 is expected to be priced at CNY 1,999 (roughly Rs. 20,000) for the 128GB storage model and CNY 2,299 (roughly Rs. 22,500) for the 256GB storage model. The Chinese company is also said to launch a magnetic keyboard worth CNY 99 (roughly Rs. 1,000) for the Mi Pad 3.
