Xiaomi isn't announcing any new products at MWC 2017, but that hasn't stopped rumours that a new Xiaomi Mi 5c will arrive tomorrow. We had thought the company was moving on from its Mi 5 family, with rumours hotting up on the imminent arrival of the Xiaomi Mi6, but it seems the Mi 5 line-up is set to go out with a bang.

According to Xiaomi Device, the Xiaomi Pinecone V670 will be an octa-core processor with "four high-frequency Cortex-A53 cores, and four Cortex-A53 low-powered cores." It is accompanied by an ARM Mali-T860 MP2 GPU. This mobile chipset is tipped to be made on a 28nm process with a much lighter chassis.

The Xiaomi Mi 5c has also been spotted in the GFXBench database, which reveals a 5.5in full-HD screen, Xiaomi's Pinecone V670 processor (8x A53 CPU, Mali-T860MP2 GPU), 3GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, ans 12Mp rear and 8Mp front cameras. The Mi 5c will run MIUI 8, based on Android Nougat.

The Xiaomi Pinecone processor is rumored to be initially included in the company's Mi 5c smartphone, although Xiaomi has not released any confirmation yet. According to the official invite, the Xiaomi "Pinecone" processor announcement event will start at 2pm China time on Today, and will be held at Beijing National Convention Center.
