While the Mi fans anticipate the launch of the company's flagship Xiaomi Mi6 in the next month, Xiaomi seems to have different plans ahead of the April 16 launch event. There is no official statement by Xiaomi at the time of writing but just like previous launches, the launch of Pro 2 will be limited to China.

Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 octa-core chipset under the hood, although some other reports suggest Xiaomi could go with the recently announced MediaTek Helio P25 SoC.

Notably, The Xiaomi Redmi Pro was the first smartphone from Xiaomi's stable to arrive with a dual-lens camera setup. According to a XiaomiDevice report, it expects the Redmi Pro 2 to feature a similar camera arrangement. Some of the leaked specifications show that alleged single 12MP Sony IMX362 sensor at the rear of the phone.

The Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 is expected to be available in two memory configurations – a base variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal memory, and a higher end variant with 6GB of RAM paired with 128GB of internal memory. The base variant could be priced at 1599 yuan ($231), while the 128GB variant is rumored to be priced at 1799 yuan ($260) at launch in China.
