After the successful run of both Redmi Note 3 and Redmi Note 4, Beijing-based tech firm Xiaomi is said to be coming up with a follow-up to the aforementioned handsets. The yet to be announced mobile phone, expected to be dubbed as the Redmi Note 5, is reported to have passed a United States-based regulatory agency and is believed to be unveiled to consumers soon.
Leaked certification provided some details about the specs and features of the smartphone. Aside from having an expandable storage via a micro SD slot that caters up to 128 GB, it is also expected to be powered by a 2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 octa-core SoC or a 2.1 GHz MediaTek Helio x25 deca-core SoC, Gadgets 360 reported.
Going on with the camera sensors, the handset might rock a 16 Megapixel camera at the back, whereas on the front would be the 8 Megapixel sensor. To run the phone, Redmi Note 5 might use a 4000mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0. There are other reports that suggest, Xiaomi might price the Redmi Note 5 starting at $191 (Rs. 13,000 approx.).
The Redmi Note 5 is expected to be unveiled sometime in summer, and will first be launched only in China. After a month of release, the smartphone will make its way to the other Asian as well as worldwide markets as well.
