Some Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 details have just surfaced, and the device has allegedly paid a visit to the FCC. A mysterious device popped up in an FCC filing, and it seems to be the upcoming Redmi Note 5, though we cannot be sure of that.

As successor to Redmi Note 4, Note 5 is believed to be another budget winner. It can be noted that Redmi series from Xiaomi is a force to reckon with when it comes to budget smartphones not just in China, but also in markets like India - the company's second home, Android Central reviewed. As for optics, sources added Redmi Note 5 is expected to sport a 16-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel selfie camera as well.

As for the mobile phone's specifications, the handset will have the abovementioned 5.5-inch screen with a 1,920 x 1,080 resolution not to mentioned that it will be reinforced with the latest Gorilla Glass 4 from Corning. The phone will be powered by a 10-core MediaTek Helio X25 and an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 chipset.

The Redmi Note 5 will be powered by a 4,000mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0, and the connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11n, Bluetooth, GPS and USB Type-C port. The device will also be one of the first to run Android 7.1 Nougat-based MIUI 9.

The price tag for the new Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro is still undisclosed. Nonetheless, it is likely that the device will be offered somewhere around the $200 mark and could be launched by the end of May or June.
