When Xiaomi Mobile released the Redmi 4a in China, the phone was meet with fair commercial and critical success. Now, as part of Xiaomi's effort to widen its market especially in Asia, the company announced that the Redmi 4a would be rolled out in Malaysia.
The Xiaomi Redmi 4a and Xiaomi Redmi 4 is considered an entry-level smartphone, but it packs some decent specs. The Phone is expected to be rolled out in Malaysia on Jan. 19 and is rumored to cost RM449 (roughly $100), according to GizOK.
The Redmi 4 has a 5.0-inch IPS display with a resolution of 720 x 1280. According to GSM Arena, it has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 chipset with a quad-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz, and an Adreno 308 graphics processing unit. The Xiaomi Redmi 4a packs 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage space which can be expanded up to 256GB with a microSD.
The Xiaomi Redmi 4a has a 13-megapixel rear facing main camera with autofocus, LED flash, and f/2.2 aperture. It also has a 5-megapixel front facing camera for selfie shots and video calling. The standard features of the device include a 3.5mm audio jack, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, an infrared sensor, and microUSB 2.0 for charging and data transfer. The Redmi 4a has a 3120mAh non-removable battery pack.
